Beverly Smith Herrington has had a successful and varied career
in music. Starting piano lessons at the age of 6, she played Chopin’s
Minute Waltz in a minute flat at the age of 9! She began playing
for Junior Church at the age of 8 and was selected as accompanist for
her Junior High and High School Choruses. As a Junior, she formed a
popular high school performing ensemble that earned top honors at the
annual State Music Festival, and also became organist of Avalon UMC.
Also, in her Junior year, she became a song stylist, performing on local
TV and in musical programs.
In the ensuing years, she
has served as Director of Music and Organist in Colorado and Georgia, as
well as vocal and keyboard instructor.
She performed the role of
Guenevere in the Springer Opera House presentation of Camelot
and has presented vocal and keyboard musical programs for service
clubs and church organizations.
Beverly is currently
Director of Music/Organist at New Prospect UMC.
